Welcome to the DPS Shakespeare Festival
2008 FESTIVAL Friday, May 9, 2008 Denver Performing Arts Complex
The Denver Public Schools Shakespeare Festival is an annual event now in its twenty-fourth year. The day-long Festival is held in downtown Denver and provides the forum for students to perform sonnets and scenes from the works of Shakespeare as well as demonstrate dance and vocal and instrumental music of Shakespeare's time. The Festival begins with a parade to the performance venues and continues with performances throughout the day on multiple stages. The Challenge Bowl, which this year will cover the life and times of Shakespeare and THE MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR, is scheduled for at The Red Bull Theatre in the Lobby of the Bonfils Theatre Complex from 1:00 to 2:30 pm .

I. The Olde Globe On the west end of the Galleria in the Denver Performing Arts Complex
II. The Theatre In front of Boettcher Hall Lobby
III. The Fortune In the Jones Theatre off of Arapahoe Street
IV. The Whitehall In the Space Theatre in Denver Center Theatre Complex downstairs
V. The Curtain Opposite Ricketson Theatre entrance
VI. The Hope Center Sculpture Park stairway
VII. The Swan West end Sculpture Park walkway
VIII. The Rose On Borofski's Dancers Pad
IX. The Blackfriars On walkway to east side end of Sculpture Park
X. The Whitefriars Sculpture Park walkway near Champa Street
XI. The Inns of Court Sculpture Park end of spiral walkway near Speer Boulevard
XII. The Red Bull In the foyer of the Bonfils Complex
Restrooms are found inside the Space Theatre Lobby, the Bonfils Lobby, the Jones Theatre Lobby and the Boettcher Concert Hall Lobby. Drinking fountains are in these lobbies as well.
